Who is Betatron?

We are a collective of animators, visual effects artists and filmmakers working in the mediums of cg, traditional animation, and stop-motion photography creating great stuff for broadcast and film.

R. Scott Purcell: Creative Director
Scott is a 1987 Graduate of the University of the Arts where he received a BFA in Animation. He has worked on several feature films including Kevin Smith’s Zack and Miri Make a Porno and Clerks 2, M. Night Shyamalan’s Signs, and Terry Gilliam’s Twelve Monkeys.

Bob Larkin: Executive Producer/Editor
Bob, also a 1997 graduate of Uarts, is a filmmaker, director, screenwriter and video editor. He recently completed work on the documentary WinCatherine.

Joel Dubin: Lead CG Artist/Designer/Animator
Joel is a 1990 graduate of the University of the Arts where he received a BFA in Illustration. His background in illustration, design, and art direction evolved over the following two decades to encompass 3D animation, 2D compositing and motion design with a focus on science visualization.
